So I’m walking in the woods this weekend, just taking a leisurely walk with my camera, and I spot this through the trees, in a glade near a pine tree grove:
What the…
It appeared to be two human figurines, shaped out of chicken wire, and placed well off the trail. I wouldn’t have noticed them if I hadn’t been looking all around for things to take photos of. But they were just so… weird! I couldn’t imagine who would have put them there – it obviously took some effort to make them, and the spot they were in was not necessarily “easy” to get to, nor was it “right” off the trail.
This one appears to be in the shape of a man.
And this one’s a woman. The pictures don’t quite do them justice, of course.
Perhaps they were someone’s idea of a joke, or a prank? I imagine they would look pretty scary in the woods on a foggy day or at night – maybe even like ghosts.
In the end, I left them as they were – I suppose I’ll go back again someday soon and see if they are still there.
Very weird!!
VERY cool! Reminds me of a sweet little indoor/outdoor gallery my uncle took us to up in the berkshires, MA. He calls it the “gingerbread house”, because that’s what it looks like – a small fairy-cottage! You can walk around trails in the back in the woods, and there are a bunch of neat sculptures just out on the trails! If I can find it, I’ll let you know exactly where it is. By the way, thanks so much for your kind words. It’s so nice to know my readers are tolerant of my incessant venting! 😛
