Yes, that’s right – with Amanda away on business, I had the car, and I brought the bunnies down to the office for the day. I had a little trouble getting them into the carrier for the car ride down (all 3 minutes of it), but once I let them out in the office, they both started to explore. Even Betsy – the normally shy bunny – went up as far as the front office, and as far as the back office by the printers (which, if you’ve been in my office before, is quite a long way).
Both bunnies seemed to enjoy themselves – running around and sniffing things, as bunnies do – and they were generally well-behaved. Gus left a few droppings here and there, but I used the dust-buster to pick them up. Betsy generally stayed in my office most of the day, but when I left to get lunch, she found her way under my desk and, true to her nickname of “destructo-bunny,” chewed some wires. She sliced through my phone wire, a network cable, and a keyboard cable. I was able to make new phone & network wires, but the keyboard cable was not something I could fix. It was, however, for my old computer “Sanctuary,” which uses an old-style keyboard connector – so it wasn’t a great loss, just an old keyboard that only worked with Sanctuary. And I remote-control Sanctuary most of the time anyway, so I wasn’t that upset… though I did scold Betsy.
I didn’t take my camera in the morning, but I did pick it up after I got lunch, so I was able to snap a few pictures. Of course, by then the bunnies had settled down (as they do during the middle of the day), so there’s no real “action” shots here. I do have a picture or two from a few days before mixed in here – hey, the bunnies are cute!
So, without further delay, here are the pictures of the bunnies!
Here’s Gus and Betsy cuddling on the livingroom floor. So cute! But Gus, why do you have to leave pellets all over the floor? You’ve got 2 litterboxes to choose from for that kind of thing!
Speaking of another kind of pellets, here’s Gus chowing down on some pellets. What a handsome bunny!
And here’s the bunnies in my office. I gave them the phone book in hopes of having them chew on that, instead of more wires… but alas, it did not work. Betsy always looks like she’s about to run away – such a shy bunny!
Towards the end of the day, the two bunnies settled down in a corner of my office. (Don’t mind the unfinished wall.) Everyone at the office agreed that they are very, very cute.
So that’s all the pictures I have for now. This weekend both bunnies are going to the vet for their yearly checkup – which should be interesting! And they’re both coming down with us to my mom’s house for Mother’s day… so they are going to be doing a lot of traveling in the next few days. Get used to it, bunnies!
