You know you’re a slave to your rabbits when they get more presents than you do. Here’s some pictures of the buns on Christmas morning
Gus is checking out the situation. Where’d all these funny-colored boxes come from?
We moved things a little so we could put our fake tree down by the floor, and Gus was apparently more interested in what he could now get into, instead of the presents (or the tree – though he did nibble on the cord a bit).
Gus and Betsy were very curious about all these new things.
Gus was quite curious to see if there was anything edible in all this mess. Always thinking with his stomach!
Although Gus got a very nice package of corn slims (hard chew-treat thingies), I think he wanted to eat my book more. I told him to wait, and that he still had more presents to open.
It’s hard to open a bag when you have no hands. Poor gussy! We’ll give you a treat.
This of course did not stop Gus from grabbing his treat and running off to the corner to eat it. Silly bunny!
This present was for both Betsy and Gus, but Betsy was the most helpful in getting it open.
Though maybe she does need a little help getting started…
Fortunately, Gus was there to help.
Although his interest waned rather quickly.
Oh! What’s this? A phonebook? Gus is suddenly interested again!
Wow! How exciting!
Here Betsy is quite interested in her box of yogurt drop treats.
Again, that whole “lack of hands” thing makes it hard to open boxes. But don’t think that she didn’t try…
Amanda opened the box for her and offered her one of her treats. Naturally, Betsy approaches cautiously…
Good bunny!
She even “begged” for a treat by getting up on her hind legs. Good bunny!
One treat is just not enough.
Oops! Left the box open! Someone’s getting extra treats today!
So that’s Christmas with the bunnies. I think they enjoyed it. (The phonebook was destroyed 2 days later.) Merry Christmas – peace on Earth, good will towards men… and bunnies!
