This is the sort of story that sends me into fits paradoxical rage. “Take of my shoes”, indeed!
When will people realize that this is STUPID and doesn’t help anything? Just because one person had a bomb in his shoe DOES NOT mean that now EVERYONE needs to have their shoes checked!
Just try following that logic a bit further. Assume for a moment that in order to get on a plane, security screeners would have to check everything that anyone had ever used to hide/hold a bomb.
We’d all end up going onto planes naked, after having a full-body x-ray and full cavity search.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have to go through that every time I want to board a plane (and, eventually of course, trains, buses, ferries, etc.).
Kind of brings it into perspective now, doesn’t it?
