Dream Life

Sometimes I think that my dreams are my real life; and this world is the real dream.

Another weird dream last night. This one was probably weirded out even more by me constantly waking up last night (I did not sleep well).

Making an appearance again in this dream was a figure that I call “the girl in blue.” This person has shown up in so many of my dreams, and for so long (since I was 16, at least), that I sometimes wonder if her appearance in my dreams is some sort of “message.” In this dream, she had a penchant for spilling things. Like cups of soda. Don’t ask me why.

Another feature of this dream was “hidden treasure.” We were on a treasure hunt; not unlike the one in that lousy movie “National Treasure.” But my dream treasure hunt was much cooler; involving, well, all sort of weird dream type twists and puzzles. There were also “bad” people after the treasure as well; there was even one sequence (late at night) where they came outside the back door to my apartment. My apartment was full of crap (as a result of the treasure hunt) so it was hard to sneak up to the door, but I managed to do it. In the end, a huge cascade of water came down the stairs and washed the bad guy away. As I said, it was very weird.

I also remember dreaming about dreaming. These “dreams within a dream” had some meaning in the context of my dream-story; they contained clues to finding the treasure, I think.

There was also a bit about canoing, a river, my dad, and baseball, but I don’t remember those bits clearly.

One of the last bits was in a cafeteria, like a school lunchroom. The “girl in blue” was here, and this is where I found out about her penchant for spilling things.

Anyway, I just wanted to write all this down before it gets lost to my flakey memory.
