Yesterday Amanda finally bit the bullet and bought snow tires for the Keithmobile. We’d been thinking about them a lot, since even with AWD you still need good traction for cornering & stopping (something that EVERYONE with an SUV would be well-advised to understand!). So, after a lot of calling around, we settled on a pair of Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires from Hogan Tire. They had the best price I could find, and they are in Waltham, so Amanda was able to go there on her way to work.
Now, the Blizzaks are GOOD snow tires. They’re not studded though, so on sheer ice they will be inferior to studded snow tires – but in every other respect they are superior. And since even on sheer ice they still give some of the best traction available, I’m not worried. They’re very aggresive looking too – I may have pictures to post of them later. Anyway, now I’m really prepared for a bad winter – let is snow!!! With these babies, I’ll be able to go ANYWHERE.
So, here’s hoping for a bad winter!! 🙂
the Blizzaks actually preform better than studded tires
