Gus suddenly wasn’t feeling good this weekend, and though mum & dad took him to the vet right away, Sunday morning he couldn’t get up very well and he was very cold – so I snuggled up to him to try and keep him warm. But mum & dad said it wasn’t enough, and he had to go to the emergency room – but he didn’t come back.
It’s a little weird now not having to fight over the best bits of dinner, or squeeze past anybun in the cardboard tunnel, but mum & dad have been talking to me a lot and giving me lots of pats (no thanks) and treats (yes please).
Mum & dad seem pretty upset, but I’m not too worried about it – I’ll see Gus again someday.
Goodbye, Gus – I’ll leave some pellets in the bowl for you (but the kale is mine!).

Oh no. I am so so sorry to hear about Gus. I always enjoy your updates. Thank you for letting us know and I hope the whole family is doing okay =)
So sorry for your loss! Been reading your blog for years.
So sorry to hear! I’ve had stasis troubles with 3 of my buns. It’s amazing how fragile they are. Sending hugs and kisses to you, Betsy and your humans!
I am so sorry to hear about Gus’ passing. Sending hugs to you and your bunny parents. He’s probably playing with my buns who have gone to bunny heaven. My guess is that he and Ibram are fighting over the best of the bunny treats up there.
So sorry for your loss. I’ve always enjoyed reading about your exploits. This is a reminder that our furry friends’ lives are always over too soon for those around them. I’ve made sure to give some extra cuddles to my bunnies this evening.
Very sorry to hear Gus is gone. 🙁 Hopefully Betsy is adjusting okay. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. Sympathy to the whole household.
Ahhh, So sad we’ll all miss Gus. Our Buns had kidney disease and we had to do an IV every day, and got to the point she couldn’t walk. Was so strange without her. That was eight years ago and I still miss her-even though she was a terror at times-but very sweet at the same time. My condolences Betsy. RIP Gus.
Betsy + family – I’m so so sorry to hear about Gus. It’s so hard when our pets leave us. Sending you love and hugs, and hoping the sadness fades in time so you’ll be left with nothing but happy memories. <3
Hey Betsy, I know you’ll see Gus again – but please be patient with your humans. Losing a family member is hard. It is too bad you can’t give them treats to make them feel better (and I don’t mean bunny “raisins” if you know what I mean).
Gus’ people: I’m sorry for your loss. Gus was a very special bunny to have inspired your blog and I will miss reading about him. Take care.
So sorry to hear about Gus, I lost my last bun a few months ago. It’s never easy, I’ve always loved your blog.
We are so sorry to hear that Gus has passed away. Gus and Betsy were the first Internet bunnies we got to know, and we will miss Gus a lot. Special hugs to little Betsy and her mum and dad.

Oh, we’re so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace, Gus.
I’ll miss reading about Gus and seeing his pictures. I’m very sorry for your loss. Its so, so scary and stressful whenever something isn’t right with them. I know how hard that is. They are just so fragile in some ways. He had a great life.
I’m so sorry. I found your site when I got by chance a former lab rabbit… your site was a great help, I learned many things about bunnies at first hand, and I also enjoy reading your blog and looking at the beautiful pics. You’re an amazing family, may your little Gus rest in peace, thank you so much for sharing this precious lives.
So very sorry to hear of your loss. Gus will be missed. Hope Betsy and the rest of the family gets through this sad time. Our furkids engrave places on our hearts. Gone but never forgotten.
Love to your family at a sad time. I know the pain of loosing a beloved bunny. Gus had an amazing life with you and Betsy. Thank you for sharing it with me. Karen
Oh Oh Oh … Gus was such a bunny! Loved all over the world. R.I.P.
Take care there and give Betsy a special hug for us here at House of Rabbits.
Oh no! I’m sad to hear about this news. Binky free Gus.
