It’s important that I know what’s going on everywhere in the house – that’s why it’s crucial that I sit somewhere so that I can see as much of the house as possible.
Like right in the doorway to dad’s office:
You see, I can look out the door and down into the rest of the house, while at the same time keep an eye on dad. It’s the perfect watching spot!
Of course it does mean that dad has a hard time getting out of his office, but oh well.

Gus, it looks to me as if there is more “napping” than “watching” going on there.
It’s good to keep that dad of yours in check.
Your eyes are open. Just a little bit. Good lurking. Very good. Less suspicious looking.
I have noticed that I see no teeth marks in the furniture and no digging in the carpet. Either dad has you trained well (except for his chair) or you are a very good bun.
Looks like the ideal place to sit and watch the world go by
@friendoftheanimals: oh I assure you, there are teeth marks in places, and the carpet has not escaped unscathed either. They just (fortunately) aren’t very conspicuous, so you don’t see them.
It helps that I work from home every day so I can stop any serious furniture/carpet destruction before it gets out of hand.
Judging from the tilt of the ears, I’d say it’s a good listening place as well.
Keeps him in there making money for you-know-what, Gus!
I think that is a perfect spot to keep an eye on things. You know just in case dad wants to get you a snack or something.
